Reflections

-LV, Bay area: Favorite part of the trip was San Fransisco. Love the residential architecture and the views. Would have liked to spend multiple days if possible. The Thai food place was amazing. So much to see. I could absolutely see myself living there. I really liked the street art we saw in the Mission neighborhood, it inspired me to want to do more of that here in town. I didn't really like the wharf area and felt that it was a waste of time. Wish we had been able to go to Castro Street. I'm very curious about the nightlife, unfortunately COVID didn't allow for us to explore the music or bar scene. Also really enjoyed Berkeley and how lively it seemed to be, but I feel like it's just like any other small liberal college town (Lawrence). The cities of Santa Cruz and Monterey were OK, but the Big Sur and Wilder views were phenomenal. San Jose and Silicon Valley kind of suck. The whole area is so much bigger than I thought.

LV, LA: I don't really feel like I need to go back to LA anytime soon. I really enjoyed the people watching and seeing the fashions, since people don't really dress like that elsewhere. Venice Beach was amazing, wish it had been warmer. Loved watching the skaters and seeing the Sunset in Venice. Santa Monica was okay, nothing special. I think it would have been a much better trip if we'd been able to go out to bars, parties, and/or shows.
