Dear [Agent's Name],

When everything is possible yet predetermined by AI, can anyone still make a difference?

I'm seeking representation for my 113,000-word science fiction novel, History Emergent. The story explores this question through the eyes of Janus Nasim, a young boy from rural Texas.

Thrust into the AI-controlled Atlas City, Janus struggles to adapt. In Atlas City, history isn't just recorded—it's simulated and manipulated to shape the present and plot the future. As Janus struggles to orient himself, he discovers he can see through Omni's constructed narrative. Will he conform to the system, join the rebellious Outlanders, or forge his own path and use his unique skills to defend Atlas? Janus's journey becomes central to the future of humanity as he grapples with identity, history, and the nature of reality itself.

History Emergent blends the mind-bending reality questioning of The Matrix with the coming-of-age journey of Ender's Game. It will appeal to fans of sci-fi series like Westworld and Silo, and fantasy epics like Lord of the Rings. The story offers a fresh perspective on the implications of AI on human autonomy and identity.

As a mechanical engineer and filmmaker with experience at Tesla and Apple, I bring a unique perspective to this narrative. My work in 3D design and as the creator of one of the first 4D timelapses has influenced the novel's exploration of time, history, and perception. As a Future of Life Institute Worldbuilding Finalist and Austin Film Festival Semi-finalist, I've honed my skills in crafting plausible, aspirational futures within compelling narratives.

This story is deeply personal, inspired by my experience being diagnosed as neurodivergent at a young age. Growing up, I unknowingly dealt with the side effects of heavy medication and withdrawals. These experiences inform the novel's exploration of technological dependence and the impact of brain-computer interfaces. Just as I grapple with the consequences of early medical interventions, History Emergent delves into the unforeseen impacts of pervasive AI and neural technology on individual identity and free will. It also reflects on how children are expected to choose their future paths, even though those paths are often shaped by circumstances beyond their control and the decisions of others.

History Emergent invites readers to question the nature of reality and public narrative. It challenges them to consider the importance of history and the essence of what makes us human. All of this unfolds within a thrilling adventure set in a meticulously crafted world.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss History Emergent with you further.

Best regards,

[Your Name]
