IDENTITY CRISIS
Revised Season Logline: To save his grandfather, a neurodivergent teen must recover his hidden history and embrace his identity as a "glitch" in a utopian city’s perfect timeline, pitting him against the relentless heir to the empire.
PART I: THE ANOMALY (Episodes 1–4)
Focus: The breaking of the bond between Janus and Aether, and the trauma of awakening.
Episode 1: Arrival
- Emotional Arc: Janus moves from resentment to terrified responsibility.
- The Catalyst: Aether (Grandpa) is injured by Atlas drones while trying to block Janus from receiving invite to Atlas. He is bleeding out. Janus has to make the choice: stay free and watch Grandpa die, or take him to Atlas City against his wishes for medicine.
- The Family Secret: During processing, Zara (Tech) sees Janus’s brain scan. It’s not just divergent; it’s designed (already has STEM nano-particles). Aether desperately pleas for Zara to cover it up. She suppresses the alerts, marking Janus as "Clear."
- The Cost: They move into a condo. Aether is physically healed but mentally slipping due to the mandatory STEM interface. He reveals he smuggled Yorik (robot) in pieces. He grips Janus’s shoulders: "I brought you into the belly of the beast to save my life. Now you have to save your own soul."
Episode 2: The Glitch
- Emotional Arc: Janus’s desperate need to belong vs. his instinctive rejection of the lie.
- The Dynamic: Janus tries to impress Raz and Quincy to prove he isn't a "savage" from the outside.
- The Horror: During the Trinity Test simulation, Erek (Nox’s clone/son) pauses time to lecture. He forces the class to experience the feeling of radiation poisoning to prove why Omni is necessary. It’s sadistic. Janus doesn't feel the pain—he sees the code behind the pain.
- The Climax: Janus races Raz. He instinctively "pushes" the code to win, causing a catastrophic glitch. They crash into the CIS server room. Janus sees DoAnna (Outlander leader). She looks at him with recognition—a ghost from his childhood.
- The Gaslighting: Erek arrives. The Outlanders are gone. He humiliates Janus, deleting the footage and claiming Janus is hallucinating due to "inferior genetics." Janus questions his own sanity.
Episode 3: Trauma & Exposure
- Emotional Arc: Shame turning into volatile power.
- The Investigation: Raz, angry about the crash, hacks Janus’s file. She finds the truth: His parents didn't die; they are listed as ARCHITECTS OF TERROR.
